Our Partners in Vietnam

To fulfil our aim and objectives we need assistance from many people both in Australia and in Vietnam.

In Vietnam many people have assisted us enormously, one of which is Ho Tram Water Safety .

Ho Tram Water Safety is a consortium of companies, organisations and individuals concerned at the high level of drowning in Vietnam, and interested to improve the level of water safety at Ho Tram in particular.

Collectively they believe that water safety goes beyond teaching kids to swim, and involves making swimming part of people’s lives, socially and economically.

They teach kids to swim, encourage them to compete to improve skills, and train beach life guards to provide a safe and fun environment.

Their long term aim is for a socially and economically sustainable water safety program.

Given the size of the population in Vietnam (over 92 million) it was perceived that we would only achieve our aims and objectives by adopting a ‘Train the Trainer’ approach to teaching water safety and swimming.   This is a cornerstone of our operations and ensures that the knowledge and skill level is retained in Vietnam when our trainers leave the local community, thus ensuring sustainability.

With these goals in mind WSV has worked closely with other local partners including:

  • Hong Bang International University

  • University of Physical Education and Sport

  • HCMC University of Sport

  • Xuyen Moc Education Department

  • Vung Tau Education Department and VUFO

  • St Josephs Charity school in Bien Hoa

  • Heartreach Australia

  • Hue Help and Swim Vietnam

  • Vinh Long Youth Union
