UP TO 35 CHILDREN A DAY
DROWN IN VIETNAM.

YOU CAN CHANGE THAT UP

Drowning is described as the 'silent epidemic' by many international aid agencies, (UNICEF, TASC) which estimate that the true number of children drowning is actually over 30 per day.

Our mission is…

To assist to significantly reduce the drowning toll in Vietnam and to further promote the opportunity for all Vietnamese children to learn water safety, swimming and survival skills to survive in a range of aquatic environments.

Who We Are

Water Safety Vietnam was founded when a group of experienced swimming and water safety personnel became aware of the extremely high death by drowning rate in Asia where "an estimated 350,000 children die each year - a rate of some 20 times higher than in developed counties. Of these 350,000 children, almost half are aged between one and four".

The Alliance for Safe Children estimates 13,000 children drown every year.  That is 35 children per day.

The WHO States that 'drowning is preventable.' WSV wants to make a difference and prevent the preventable.
